Root Samsung Galaxy S Duos GT-S7562 [How To]

Samsung Galaxy S Duos GT-S7562 is a spiced up version of the original mobile Galaxy S and as its name suggests, it is a dual SIM device. The phone runs on a 1 GHz single core processor, 5MP primary camera, 0.3MP front camera, 768MB RAM. The phone is quite smooth and runs on Android v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich very nicely.

Without wasting our precious time, let us quickly jump into the rooting tutorial!


Requirements -

1 - Make sure that your mobile possess 70 to 80% battery. It will be dangerous for your phone if it switch off during root process due to low battery.
2 - Enable USB debugging mode in Settings.
3 - Make sure that you have backed up your all important data including Contacts, SMS, Call Logs and other things that you think important.
4. Install Samsung Kies which includes Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 USB Drivers.

Procedure -

Step 1 - Download and extract Samsung Galaxy S duos Rooting Kit on your computer.

Step 2 - Copy CWM-Superuser-3.1.3.zip to your phone's external SD card. This file is present in the rooting kit.

Step 3 - Switch Off your S Duos. Now boot your phone into Download Mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down + Home button together, and then press the Power button till you see the some warning on your device. Read it if you wish. Press Volume Up button to continue to download mode.

Step 4 - Open Odin.exe (from extracted folder) and connect your phone to PC via USB cable. Make sure that your phone is in download mode. If your phone is connected successfully the one of the ID:COM boxes in Odin will turn yellow.



Step 5 - Click on PDA button and select the file recovery.tar from extracted folder. Click on Open.



Step 6 - Please make sure that only Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options are checked in Odin.



Step 7 - Remove the back panel of your mobile. This is required as you will need to remove the battery at a perfect timing, after you complete the Step 7.

Step 8 - Now, click on the Start button on Odin to start the installation process. Installation will take a few minutes to complete. Don't interrupt the process. A green bar will tell you the progress of the operation. So please wait for the process to complete.


Step 9 - Finally, when the process of installation is completed successfully you will see the PASS message on Odin and your device will vibrate once. As soon as the phone vibrates, immediately remove the battery from mobile. This will prevent overwriting of stock recovery.


Step 10 - Insert the battery into mobile.

Step 11 - Now boot into ClockWorkMod Recovery by pressing Volume Up + Volume Down + Home + Power button simultaneously till the Samsung logo appears followed by the CWM screen. 

Your normal touch input will not work here. Use the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons to navigate and the Home button to select your preferred option. Power button will take you a step back.

Step 12 - Select Install Zip from sdcard option and select Choose zip from external sdcard . Finally select the CWM-Superuser-3.1.3.zip file and browse through the long list of No to select the only Yes option to install superuser to your device. Once the installation process is done, select the Reboot option in Main Menu.

Congrats! Your Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 has been rooted! You can check the Super User application installed on your device.
